Different types of finishing
olishing or Finishing is a function which makes a fragment resistant against rusting and effective in beauty of it.
In hand tools, especially Spanners, there are usually two types of finishing, Matt and Mirror-finished, which market demand determines what to produce and trade.
In both types, Spanners are being polish in a Polymer-Chemical fluid first, and that’ll make them Matt polished, for making them Mirror-Finished, they should be sunk in an Electricity-Fluid that will make them Mirror-Finished.
Anti-Slip Expression Meaning
One of them most important specifications of an Ergonomic Hand Tool, is to be firm in hands, like it cannot be slipping while using at work. “Anti Slip” or “Anti-Skid” spanners are spanners with special embossed “Dots” which can lead to a perfect firmness while working.
To make a Hand Tool, Anti-Slip, needs more production process which will cause extra expenses that will effect on the final price of a tool.
What's CE Standard?
CE marking is a certification mark that indicates conformity with health, safety, and environmental protection standards for products sold within the European Economic Area (EEA).
“CE” is sometimes indicated as an abbreviation of “Conformité Européenne” (French for “European Conformity”),[3] but is not defined as such in the relevant legislation.
What does Drop Forged mean?
A device for forging metal between two dies, one of which is fixed, the other acting by gravity or by steam or hydraulic pressure. Verb drop-forge (transitive) 2. To forge (metal) into (a component) by the use of a drop forge.
Drop Forged hand tools such as Spanners and Tower pincers, are produced in this way.
What's Ergonomic?
An applied science concerned with designing and arranging things people use so that the people and things interact most efficiently and safely is called Ergonomic.
In Tools production field, ergonomic is so important that the worker’s health and safety have been considered when designing the form and shape of the handle or the whole body of a hand tool.
What's GS Standard?
Geprüfte Sicherheit (GS) means ‘safety tested’; and the GS Mark is a voluntary certification standard. It demonstrates that a product has achieved specific safety standards, and retailers and customers perceive it as a mark of quality, although it only measures safety.
The GS Mark is awarded by third-party organizations that have been accredited by German authorities to perform product testing and to certify compliance. Its requirements are more stringent than the EN standard, and also exceed the requirements of the mandatory CE marking
What's ISO Standard?
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO /ˈaɪsoʊ/) is an international standard-setting body composed of representatives from various national standards organizations. Founded on 23 February 1947, the organization promotes worldwide proprietary, industrial and commercial standards.
What's Anti-Slip TPR meaning?
Two big oil derivation usages are Plastics and Rubbers, which Thermo Plastic materials are one of them.
Thermo Plastic substances are like Elastic material in temperatures lower than specified, soft and Elongation, and in upper temperatures act like Plastic substances, hard and fragile.
Thermo Plastic Rubbers (TPR) are kind of oil substances which mostly are being used in Hammer’s Handles and sleeves for Pliers and Saws, the reason that makes it Anti-Slip, is due to the friction between that material and hand’s skin which leads to a perfect firmness while using.
What does Hardened and Tempered mean?
Production process in manufacturing a Metal Fragment, since Melting until forging and producing have variety procedures which is being done in different temperatures, and this variations will cause Hardening in that fragment.
Tempering and Hardening, are procedures which put the fragment in a special temperature which will make the fragment Hardened and Tempered, that will cause more strength for tools.
What's Difference between Wet and Dry Diamond Disc?
Diamond Discs are Metal-Based Cutting Discs usually being used to cut different kinds of stones and they’re made in two types of Wet-cutting-discs and Dry-cutting-discs. Discs with “Groove” are specialized for dry cutting as they can be self-cooled because of those grooves, they are usually being used for cutting Granite Stones, and Wet Diamond Discs are steady discs with no groove better to be used with Soap-Water fluid and they’re usually being used for cutting Ceramics so.
What's difference between Brass and Zinc alloy?
There are a huge variety of metals which Brass and Zinc are two of them that are being used in different industries. Combinations of these metals with other elements will lead to a big amount of different metal alloys since they cannot be used properly without this combination process, but their names are called because of the majority of that element in the alloy.
Brass is being used mostly in Vortex Locks, Cylinders and Keys due to its anti-bacterial and anti-rust abilities, but it’s much higher and more expensive economically, since then the next appropriate alloy is Zinc which is used in Vortex cylinders’ bodies. Brass is used in the core of a cylinder as it’s more necessary.
What's difference between Cr-V and S2 Steel?
S2 is a shock resistant steel and is tougher but less strong, CRV isn’t as tough as S2 (resistant to chipping in this context) but is stronger–will bend/flex less. Sort of like comparing impact sockets to chrome vanadium sockets.
Vortex Hex and Torx keys are manufactured with both S2 steel and CRV steel, which S2 is better for industrial use while CRV is better for indoor use at home.
What does HSS mean?
High-speed steel (HSS or HS) is a subset of tool steels, commonly used as cutting tool material.
It is often used in power-saw blades and drill bits. It is superior to the older high-carbon steel tools used extensively through the 1940s in that it can withstand higher temperatures without losing its temper (hardness). This property allows HSS to cut faster than high carbon steel, hence the name high-speed steel. At room temperature, in their generally recommended heat treatment, HSS grades generally display high hardness (above Rockwell hardness 60) and abrasion resistance (generally linked to tungsten and vanadium content often used in HSS) compared with common carbon and tool steels.
What's the use of being Magnetic?
Magnetic is a property of some kinds of metals that can absorb other metals in some kinds.
This property is very useful in industry, mostly used in Tip of Screwdrivers to hold small sizes of screws specially in Electronic Screwdrivers that reaching to a screw in that measurement which is difficult to hold screws, Magnetic helps to keep the screw at the tip of the screwdriver to put with ease.
